The Challenge
We were tasked with developing the next generation of the Buster L Series, introducing a modern and timeless design language rooted in Buster’s new design DNA.
The challenge was to retain the existing weight, price and performance targets while giving the boats a more robust, functional and tool-like character. A key part of the development was creating a more ergonomic and modular console for the Lx and L2, designed to improve usability while allowing the same design approach to evolve across future models.
The solution also needed to support Buster’s manufacturing approach, creating greater consistency across the range while reducing complexity and maintaining flexibility for future development.
The Console
The console became one of the key opportunities to improve the everyday experience while establishing a design element that could carry across the L Series and future models.
We developed a more ergonomic and modular architecture, considering the relationship between the driver, controls, storage and surrounding deck space. The result is a cleaner, more purposeful console that improves usability while giving the range a stronger visual identity.
Same Console,
two different positions
From the outset, we knew the Lx and L2 would share the same console. We therefore developed the design to work seamlessly across both configurations, without compromising usability, ergonomics or the overall design.
