Concept

The brief was to develop a new electric commercial cruiser that combines sustainable propulsion with the comfort, functionality and versatility required for maritime use. The challenge was to create a contemporary catamaran capable of accommodating both passengers and cargo, while providing easy access, efficient circulation and a high level of stability. Our design approach focused on translating these practical requirements into a clear Scandinavian design language.

Blockout Based on Layout Study

Using the initial layout study and provided General Arrangement (GA), we developed a series of design concepts for the first round of exploration. The focus was on quickly testing different proportions, volumes, and exterior design directions while maintaining the key functional requirements of the layout. This early concept phase allowed us to explore a broad range of possibilities and establish a strong foundation for further design development.

Challenging the Original Configuration

As part of the concept development, we challenged the original GA and hull configuration by moving towards a catamaran platform. The twin-hull arrangement offered clear benefits in terms of stability, deck space and passenger comfort, while allowing us to create a more open and user-oriented layout. Based on the project discussions, we decided to develop this direction further, using the additional space and stability to improve circulation, accessibility and the overall experience on board.
